Our Story

Lisa Quarders was born in Northern Wisconsin, Kane Davis was born in Southern California, and when north and south met, it was tropical ………ok, so we like beaches and the sun. Anyway, we met in our mid-thirties, and, neither of us having been yet married, decided to make it a go. Love Love was in the air.

We met in Pheonix when Kane was visiting, moved to Sacramento, then moved to Tahoe and bought a house and a business—a UPS Store. Kane’s dad backed the enterprise, as he also lived in Tahoe at the time, and we had some great times there. Lot’s of skiing, hiking, boating and fun in the sun, although the snow and cabin fever got to us a bit

In Tahoe we tried to start a family, but soon realized—after a couple of miscarriages and fertility treatments—that we should place our focus on adoption. Both of us were very intent on making our house a home. Two years of planning and waiting led to our greatest blessing: Hope Laurel Davis was born on January 12, 2009, in Reno, Nevada. As of this writing, she is two years old and is all we talk about. She is really starting to talk now and become independent.

We moved briefly to Sacramento in 2010, and after searching for work—and not finding much, we moved to Phoenix, where Lisa has lots of sisters, and Hope has lots of cousins that are her age. Kane finally found work at Sage Software doing tech support, and Lisa is doing respite for special-needs children. We have found a rythm here, for sure.
